Interesting piece ; Bullbreedsonline

In the debates section, finally people are asking if the problem really is the 'blue' or if it's in the ego's & interests of those who see themselves as the hierarchy

Quote;

I agree with you Luke, if they are all around where are they and why arnt they turning up in rescues on a regular basis like all other colours ?We had one in rescue , who sadly died but that was old age mainly, and Stephen who used to be on here had one,who never had any problems, apart from that I often wonder if people call them blue to sell them.
And where is the proof these so called diluted dogs have extended skin issues?I have read many a forum and almost on all there are Staffords with problems with their skin,(no blues) so is it really a scare mongering tactic from those who hate the colour?

Funny that lol!

Another reply from Jim 'Housedog', very experienced gent,

I have only seen a handful of blues, 'Some from dark brindle matings' in 30years, all appeared to be in sound physical health' I have also thought are there alterior motives in the seeming demonising of blue dogs/bithces? Is it partly that the apparent statistically intense breeding towards the colour blue is cutting into the puppy selling/production market of the more readily accepted colours? They, 'Blues' certainly have never been a prominent statistical factor in the showring, so cannot be used as a scapegoat in the ever decreasing show attendances. Blue owners, 'Like many other owners' have no interest in showing so being made welcome, or not, is not a factor in my view, they just see showing for what it is, if they are even interested to that degree.
